Proud co-organizer of Ocean Week!

Ocean week is the annual conference hosted by NTNU Oceans, one of NTNU’s four strategic research areas, and the conference is a vital part in NTNU’s work to contribute to Norway’s role as an ocean nation.

Previous Ocean Weeks have received visits and contributions from leading scientists, artists, industry and business representatives, diplomats, politicians, activists, and even royalty when His Majesty King Harald V of Norway visited the conference in 2019.

In addition to the sessions, daily stands, art exhibits, robotic demos and workshops provide a great networking arena for the companies and institutions represented.

For the first time, the campus at NTNU Ålesund this time hosted two days of Ocean Week. The kick-off event was a dinner at Atlanterhavsparken Sunday, May 1th. The day after, Monday, May 2nd, the conference was heldt in the VIP conference room at NMK. Sessions from 09.00-12.00 was streamed. 

Daniel Garden, CEO of GCE Blue Maritime Cluster, joined a panel talk at 11.00, titled "Ocean Technology for Sustainable Costal Communities". The other panel members was Hans Petter Hildre, Head of Department of Ocean Operations and Civil Engineering at NTNU, Beate Kvamstad-Lervold, Special Advisor SINTEF Ocean and Gjermund Kvernmo Langset (CEO of The NorthWest). The moderator was Elisabeth Solvang, CCO for GCE Blue Maritime Cluster/ÅKP.
