It was interesting, overwhelming and busy. Attending the 30th edition of SMM in Hamburg gave a lot of useful input and acquaintances to a team from GCE Blue Maritime Cluster.

The 30th edition of SMM came back strong after the pandemic. The fair offered 2,000 exhibitors from all technology areas in the maritime industry, as well as more than 30,000 visitors from over 100 nations. GCE Blue Maritime was there to discuss challenges, look at groundbreaking innovations and, of course to network, seek cooperation and forge alliances.

Our cluster attended the fair from September 6th to September 9th. One of these days, September 8th, Blue Maritime joined hands with Innovation Norway and arranged a high quality seminar and networking event at the fair.

After some very good presentations we all teamed up to a super networking event at the Norwegian pavilion, hosted by Norwegian Maritime Exporters, NME.

The team from Blue Maritime Cluster had useful and great days in Hamburg. Looking forward to the next SMM already.

Daniel Garden, CEO, GCE Blue Maritime Cluster, says in a comment that SMM is an important meeting place for the maritime industry and an obvious arena for many of the cluster’s companies:

– To be able to showcase some of the best maritime innovations on this stage is extremely valuable to enforce our cluster’s global position. The next big thing often comes out of Norway, and we feel certain that our innovation experience will come in handy as we are now working on finding our way through the green transition.
