GCE Blue Maritime Cluster og Forsvarsmateriell, Maritime Kapasiteter (FMA Markap) har inngått en samarbeidsavtale, et viktig steg for å styrke samspillet mellom den maritime næringen og forsvarssektoren.

Tretten næringssjefer fra ulike fylkeskommuner besøkte 29. april Ålesund, med stopp hos Norsk Maritimt Kompetansesenter og et eget besøk hos ÅKP. Med på besøket var også representanter fra ledelsen i Innovasjon Norge. Dette ga gode rammer for refleksjon rundt innovasjon, utvikling og framtidens virkemiddelapparat.

The work to increase female presence in blue economy continues. Cluster Manager of NCE Blue Legasea, Wenche Uksnøy, was invited to the Women on Board RSG meeting to present experiences and preliminary results from the WIN-BIG project. New findings from a regional Women on Board report were also presented.

På Skaparhuset i Ulsteinvik fikk deltakerne nylig utforske hvordan kunstig intelligens kan brukes til å utvikle egne digitale løsninger. Gjennom en praktisk workshop ledet av Michael Carozza i Norsk Katapult Digital og ÅKP fikk de teste vibekoding i praksis – fra idé og første skisse til videreutvikling og refleksjon rundt sikker bruk.

Det betyr at den blir gratis og tilgjengelig for alle. Markeringen fikk stor oppmerksomhet da både kronprins Haakon og prins Sverre Magnus sto for den offisielle åpningen.

ÅKP deltok onsdag 15. april på et strategisk møte med ledelsen i Forskningsrådet, der NTNU i Ålesund var vertskap. Målet med besøket var å vise fram det sterke fagmiljøet på campus og hvordan forskning og akademia jobber tett sammen med næringslivet.

Det nye dagskurset Fra hav til handel, arrangert av NCE Blue Legasea, samlet 40 personer fra ulike deler av den marine næringen. Deltakergruppen var mangfoldig, med variasjon i både selskapstilknytning, alder, ansiennitet og erfaring. Felles for alle var ønsket om å få et helhetlig bilde av den marine verdikjeden – som de alle er del av.

NCE Blue Legasea deltok nylig på sluttsamlingen i Málaga i EU-prosjektet WIN-BIG, et treårig samarbeid med mål om å styrke kjønnsbalansen i den blå økonomien. Samlingen markerte avslutningen på et omfattende arbeid på tvers av europeiske havregioner, og ga et tydelig bilde av både status og veien videre.

In recent weeks, GCE Blue Maritime Cluster, has engaged with key European stakeholders at Turku Tech Week in Finland and the Green Industry Forum in Paris. These events provide a platform to demonstrate the strength of the Norwegian maritime cluster and the opportunities it creates for international partners.

As part of the national export initiative, Innovation Norway and GCE Blue Maritime Cluster in March jointly organized a targeted trade mission to Germany, focusing on the cruise and ferry segments.

Et mer fleksibelt bioraffineri kan være nøkkelen til å utnytte Norges varierte bioressurser. I FlexBio-prosjektet jobber forskere og industri sammen for å finne løsningene, og i februar møttes de til workshop for å ta arbeidet videre.

Torsdag 25. mars hadde ÅKP hadde besøk av Hub for Ocean, en medlemsorganisasjon som arbeider for å koble aktører på tvers av havbaserte næringer og bidra til utvikling av nye muligheter i den blå økonomien.

Rollen til næringsklynger som drivkraft for innovasjon og samarbeid i norsk matproduksjon sto sentralt da Norges forskningsråd denne uken arrangerte Bærekraftig fôr-konferansen 2026 på Munchmuseet.

– Dersom dette er generasjonen som skal videreføre vår «legasea», er vi i svært gode hender, prosjektkoordinator Silje Bjørnerem.

Rekordmange vil denne våren være med på ÅKP StepUp. Mandag 23. mars startet kull nummer 11 med 15 deltakerbedrifter. Dette er gründere og selskaper som nå skal jobbe målrettet med strategi, forretningsutvikling og vekst.

Ship Technology Days has, over four editions, established itself as a key meeting place for the maritime industry. Bringing together around 100 participants from R&D, industry, authorities, and academia, the conference focuses on the forefront of maritime technology and how it is applied in real operations. 

The maritime cluster in Møre og Romsdal has a unique, complete, and operational value chain covering advanced ship design, shipbuilding, system integration, and maritime technology. We are establishing a dedicated network for maritime defence and preparedness, bringing together companies with relevant expertise and interest in the defence market.

I går arrangerte Ungt Entreprenørskap Møre og Romsdal fylkesmesterskap for ungdomsbedrifter hos NMK. Arrangementet samlet elever fra videregående skoler i hele fylket som gjennom skoleåret har jobbet med å etablere og drive sine egne ungdomsbedrifter.

Fredag 6. mars fikk ÅKP besøk av statssekretær i Nærings- og fiskeridepartementet, Even Tronstad Sagebakken (Ap), som kom sammen med rådgiver Jonas Bertelsen. Vi gav statssekretæren et bredt innblikk i hvordan innovasjonsselskapet jobber med teknologiutvikling, næringsutvikling og samarbeid i den maritime klyngen.

India har store ambisjoner innen maritim sektor. Derfor vil Innovasjon Norge hjelpe norske bedrifter å komme seg inn i det markedet.

Når bedrifter står i endring, havner de ofte i et landskap preget av mange muligheter, men også mye usikkerhet. Skal man videreutvikle det man har, endre retning, eller utforske noe helt nytt? Da er avklaring helt avgjørende. Og det er akkurat her StepUp skiller seg ut, mener Robert Voldnes, energibunt, foreleser og ansvarlig for ÅKP StepUp.

— Skal vi ha et samfunn å virke i, må vi ha et samfunn som virker. Da må vi ha et næringsliv som fungerer. Vi vil rett og slett skape aktivitet, det er veldig viktig sett fra vårt ståsted, sier Jan Rune Hurlen, banksjef i SpareBank 1 SMN.

Tett samarbeid med studenter er viktig for oss i ÅKP. Denne uken deltok vi på den årlige internship kick-offen for masterstudenter ved NTNU i Ålesund. Her presenterte vi vårt internship innen strategi, innovasjon og samfunnssikkerhet.

Vi i havnasjonen Norge er formet av stillferdig slit, kontinuerlige forbedringer – og innovasjon i verdensklasse. Nå er tiden inne for å eie historien vår, og våge å fortelle den.

ShipMed har lenge sett behovet for å utforske hvordan KI kan bidra til smartere og mer effektive arbeidsprosesser. Gjennom en intensiv uke i tjenesten «En app på én uke» hos Norsk Katapult Digital fikk selskapet både et betydelig kompetanseløft og et konkret grunnlag for å jobbe videre med en avgrenset, forretningskritisk problemstilling.

Vi er glade for å ønske Martine Pallesen Farnes velkommen til Blue Maritime Cluster. Med et tydelig engasjement for den maritime næringen og et skarpt blikk for samspill og verdiskaping, ser vi frem til å ha henne med på laget.

Denne vinteren, og utover våren, har vi to nye interns med på laget i ÅKP. Både Dennis Lysø og Ida Schulz Fjeldberg studerer markedsføring, innovasjon og ledelse ved NTNU i Ålesund – og har allerede vist både engasjement og nysgjerrighet for hvordan vi jobber tett på næringslivet.

Haramskonferansen 2026, med temaet «Vekstkraft», samlet denne uken næringsliv, politikk og akademia i Brattvåg. Programmet speilet en virkelighet der sikkerhet, beredskap og verdiskaping henger tett sammen. Fra nasjonal sikkerhetspolitikk til regional gründersatsing: Dagen viste at vekstkraft i dag også handler om robusthet.

Blåskjell har lenge vært en stille ressurs i norske farvann. Nå peker forskning på at dyrking av blåskjell langs norskekysten kan bli en nøkkel til å løse en av de største utfordringene vi står ovenfor i norsk matproduksjon: bærekraftig fôr.

The last gathering of this autumn's ScaleUp was concluded on November 27. After weeks of intense work, new perspectives, and challenging reflections, the participants were able to wrap it up together – and share what this journey has truly meant for them.

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (FMA) has published a voluntary notice of limited competition and invites Norwegian suppliers to submit qualification applications for vessel design and concept development under Project P1118 – Standardised Vessels for the Royal Norwegian Navy.

— We are pleased that our core partners have received funding approval for projects that contribute to the further development of technology and expertise for green transition. Through the core partners, Norsk Katapult Digital is participating, and this allocation is an example of the close collaboration between the core partners and the catapult.

NCE Blue Legasea was visited at the beginning of December by the steering group of the project Future Feed. The purpose of the visit was to provide the green and blue sectors with better insight into each other's barriers and opportunities in the development of the production of Norwegian sustainable feed raw materials.

Local value creation, CO₂ tax, new perspectives on by-products, and good discussions about what future fisheries will require were among the topics the participants at this year's Fisheries Professional Day had to grapple with.

On November 25–26, Pål Haugen and Ida Fjeldberg from Norsk Katapult Digital (NK Digital) visited the company Quantidoc AS in Bergen for an initial scoping meeting before the launch of the service "CTO for hire". At the meeting, they met Jon Fossheim from Quantidoc.

Now ÅKP has a completely new arena for exploration, learning, and technological collaboration. On Tuesday, December 2nd, Norsk Katapult Digital opened its innovation, Digismia – a place where companies can showcase digital solutions, test new services, and gain insights before moving forward with larger investments.

The ÅKP Summit 2025 gathered leaders from a wide variety of industries. What they shared was a desire to broaden their perspectives, draw inspiration from outside, and gain professional enrichment to take home. The reactions showed that the gathering met a need for leaders who wish to learn, share, and develop in a relevant community.

Young Leaders Møre og Romsdal concluded the year with a gathering that hit the core of modern leadership. From November 19 to 20, participants met in Oslo for the third and final gathering of 2025 – two days filled with insight, reflection, and meetings with key figures from politics, social debate, and business.

In collaboration with BAE Systems, we hosted the seminar "New Frigate Program in Ålesund – Strong Opportunities for Norwegian Industry." The event brought together key players from the defense and maritime sectors to discuss innovation, collaboration, and new projects.

This year's placement for girls from upper secondary schools in Ålesund, Molde, and Kristiansund has once again demonstrated how important it is to give young women early insight into the opportunities available in the marine-based industry.

On Wednesday, November 12th, researchers, industry, and businesses gathered at Gardermoen for the final seminar of the BlueMusselFeed project – a research project funded by the Research Council of Norway, which explores mussels as a sustainable protein source in the Norwegian feed industry.

In this year's final Touchbase Sustainability, we brought together the participants in the forum around the theme of green organizational changes. The goal for the day was to explore how companies can build structures and culture that integrate sustainability into their strategy, a direction that guides daily decisions.

At Skipsteknisk, the work with artificial intelligence has been about solving real needs, not chasing trends. Through "Sprint to AI," they have gained new insights, functional prototypes, and a clearer picture of where the path forward can lead.

The pet food industry network gathered in Ålesund for its second physical meeting in the preliminary project phase. We gained insight into raw materials and ingredient development, regulations, market opportunities, and brand building. The conclusion was: the potential for Norwegian marine ingredients is significant – and it must be lifted together.

AETHER Nordic has joined the GCE Blue Maritime Cluster with a clear mission: to build solutions that people actually need, not just what you think they need. The Norwegian startup is developing a navigation system designed to keep ships moving safely even when satellite signals fail.

On October 1st, the Marin Onboarding launched for the very first time, organized by NCE Blue Legasea. The event brought together participants from various sectors of the industry for a day filled with learning, networking, and practical examples from the entire marine and biomarine value chain.

The KI pledge brought the business community together for a day of learning, guidance, and concrete tools. Now the work begins to make Møre and Romsdal a technology-driven region.

ÅKP offers a workshop in presentation techniques. One participant says: — Through relevant examples and practical exercises, we gained concrete tools to maintain both our own energy and the audience's attention. It was also very useful to challenge ourselves, put it into practice, and receive feedback on what can be improved.
