Norwegian Cruise & Ferry Group
Driving Norwegian export opportunities in the global cruise and ferry market.
The Norwegian Cruise & Ferry Group was established in 2017 by 34 companies following the resurgence of cruise ship construction in Norway. The ambition was to strengthen collaboration between Norwegian suppliers and position more companies to participate in the growing number of cruise vessel projects being built at Norwegian shipyards. In 2023, the forum became an integrated part of GCE Blue Maritime Cluster.
While fewer cruise and ferry vessels are now being built in Norway, Norwegian suppliers have successfully expanded into international markets and today deliver advanced equipment, systems and services to passenger vessel projects around the world. We continue to regard the global cruise and ferry markets as some of the most attractive long-term growth opportunities for Norwegian maritime companies. In recent years, the forum has taken a leading role in coordinating the Norwegian export initiative towards the global cruise and ferry segments. Through close collaboration with industry, shipyards, shipowners and public partners, we actively work to strengthen the international position of Norwegian suppliers and create new business opportunities in key export markets.
The forum organises one to two annual networking events, trade missions and international business activities. These activities are designed to position Norwegian companies with leading international shipyards, cruise lines and ferry operators, while providing members with valuable market intelligence, market access and opportunities to establish strategic partnerships.
To keep members informed throughout the year, the network publishes its own Cruise & Ferry newsletter featuring market updates, project opportunities and industry news. Members can also engage with the community through the network's dedicated Facebook group, creating an active platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration between meetings.
In addition, the forum has access to market insights. Among other things, the forum has a collaboration agreement with Cruise Industry News. giving the cluster members various benefits and available market data.
