The Industrial Forum for Hydrodynamics
The Industrial Forum for Hydrodynamics is a joint initiative between SINTEF Nordvest, SINTEF Ocean and GCE Blue Maritime Cluster. The forum is co-funded by Sparebanken Møre and serves as a dedicated arena for collaboration between industry and research.
Hydrodynamic competence has long been one of the defining strengths of the maritime cluster in Northwest Norway. The close interaction between leading research institutions, ship designers, equipment suppliers and shipyards has enabled the development of some of the world's most efficient and advanced vessels. The forum builds on this strong foundation and aims to maintain and further strengthen the cluster's global competitiveness.
The forum arranges two annual lunch-to-lunch meetings, normally hosted in Northwest Norway. These meetings provide an arena for sharing industrial experiences, presenting the latest research, discussing common challenges and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.
Beyond being a meeting place, the forum has dedicated resources to develop hydrodynamic methods, tools and knowledge that can be shared across the maritime industry.
Forum meetings combine technical presentations with hands-on training, enabling participants to work directly with newly developed methods and tools while providing valuable feedback for their further development.
By connecting research with industrial needs in this way, the forum accelerates the implementation of new knowledge and contributes to more efficient, sustainable and competitive maritime solutions.
