Politics and influence marked the end of the Young Leaders year 2025

Nov 27, 2025

Young Leaders Møre og Romsdal concluded the year with a gathering that hit the core of modern leadership. From November 19 to 20, participants met in Oslo for the third and final gathering of 2025 – two days filled with insight, reflection, and meetings with key figures from politics, social debate, and business.

The gathering started with breakfast and reflections on one's own leadership journey, led by Therese Tørlen (Young Leaders). Marie Solgard (Fremje/Young Leaders) followed up with sharp analyses of how the next parliamentary election can affect Møre and Romsdal – and what consequences this has for young leaders who wish to take a position.

Furthermore, Eirik Løkke (Civita) contributed perspectives on the global security landscape, increasing protectionism, artificial intelligence, and the development of democracy. Rebekka Borsch (NHO) took the participants into the intersection of innovation, political decisions, and advocacy work.

Meetings at the Parliament

Day one concluded at the Parliament, where the participants received a tour and engaged in good conversations with Åse Kristin Ask Bakke (Ap), Harry Valderhaug (KrF), and Monica Molvær (H). The visit provided an intimate insight into how political processes work, as well as how the business sector and political actors can support each other.

Insight and training at First House

Day two took place at First House, where Hans Christian Vadseth and Ragnhild Tiller challenged the group with a realistic case specially designed for Young Leaders. Ida Holen provided an insight into how First House works with strategic political influence, and Managing Partner Jon Georg Dale concluded with an update on today’s political situation, and what awaits in the months ahead.

An important period before 2026

Even though this was the last gathering of the year, the program is far from over. The participants now carry with them an enhanced perspective on the significance of politics into the next phase of Young Leaders, and further into their own organizations.

For ÅKP and the partners in the program, the initiative is about providing young leaders in Møre and Romsdal a unique space for competence, networking, and personal development – and not least equipping them better to navigate in a business environment where political decisions increasingly set the groundwork.
