This autumns's Human Factors in Control (HFC) Forum will be in Ålesund, focusing on human factors in advanced maritime operations, including lessons from Walk-to-Work (W2W) and other complex offshore operations. Prior to the conference we invite for a open Human Factors in Maritime Status meeting.
Human Factors in Maritime Operations – The Latest Updates
We invite you to an open meeting, where you will hear about the research on human-centered approaches in maritime transport from selected chapters in the recently launched book: Safety by Design: Human-Centered Approaches to AI, Automation, and Remote Operations.
The meeting will be held on 20 October 2026 at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center in Ålesund. The meeting is organized in cooperation with the Human Factors in Control forumet (HFC) and the capacity building project MIDAS – Mennesket i framtidens havromoperasjoner. The meeting is free of charge and open to everyone who is interested.

THE MAIN HFC FORUM CONFERENCE:
You also have the opportunity to register for the HFC forum, which will take place from lunch to lunch on October 20 and 21, 2026 (see program and invitation here). The HFC forum is open to everyone but requires a participation fee; you can find more information in the registration form and on the HFC webpage.
Note: The marin conference has a participation fee, but members of GCE Blue Maritime Cluster is given a discount as shown in the regisstration form below.
